Seva Dharma Mission (SDM)
Seva means service, Dharma means spirituality, and Mission means people unitedly working together for a common goal.
SDM promotes spirituality and universalism and has for decades provided training to yoga and meditation teachers and practitioners of Ananda Marga and other traditions.
Ananda Marga means the Path of Bliss which rightly describes the characteristics of the services offered at this New Year’s Gathering.
Originally founded in India, SDM is in Australia a charitable institution in good standing with tax exemption. It is primarily run by volunteers and charitable donations.
Where are we?
Tyalgum Ridge Retreat is situated high inside the northwest perimeter of the Tweed Valley, approximately 9kms from the village of Tyalgum.
Tyalgum can be reached from the coast via Murwillimbah or from the north through Chillingham and the Numinbah Valley - both are beautiful senic drives.
From Tyalgum take Tyalgum Creek Road (runs between the Tyalgum Hotel and the service station) for 9kms. The last kilometre is a good quality gravel road. The retreat is the last property (no. 783) at the end of the road.
We are 30 kms or 25 minutes from Murwillumbah.
The drive from the Gold Coast Airport takes about an hour.
